The Mindful Garden

Problem: Teaching young children how to manage their anxiety.
Solution: I wrote and co-illustrated a book to help children ages 3-7 manage their anxiety through the practice of mindfulness. I have donated the book to public libraries, and the Family Resource Center at Children’s National Library. If you would like a donated copy for your children’s library, please contact me.

In "The Mindful Garden," young Bodhi discovers a magical garden in his village, but it only reveals its true beauty when he practices mindfulness. Guided by a wise old turtle, Bodhi learns that by being present and fully aware of the moment—focusing on his breath and surroundings—he can unlock the garden's vibrant colors and connect with the peaceful animals living there. Through his mindful journey, Bodhi experiences the calming power of being fully present and realizes that he can carry this sense of peace with him wherever he goes. This heartwarming tale gently introduces children to the concept of mindfulness, showing them how to find beauty and tranquility in the world around them.
